Xunaan Ha Cenote

This week we were fortunate enough to have world famous underwater videographer, Pete Bucknell, participating in cave diver training.  We had a wonderful time together the last few days.  All kinds of amazing toys came out of Pete's arsenal including the drone that took the bird's eye picture shown below.

Today was the last day of training for Pete and Michael and we decided to visit the Xunaan Ha Cenote in Chemuyil.  This amazing cave was discovered about 20 years ago but was extensively explored in 2009.  It is one of my favorite dives in the area as it is very small cave with many beautiful decorations.

Girl Power!

Blue Life's founder, Karla, goes through a pretty tight restriction at the Blue Abyss.  Karla is one of the very few female cave divers in the world.  She is also an active cave explorer that loves to find new caves all over the place.

Thanks to Michael Oster for the clip!

The Gerber - Chung Family goes :: Blue Life :: April 2014

The Gerber - Chung Family came to Playa del Carmen to dive and snorkle with Blue Life's team a few weeks ago.  While most of the group went snorkeling in the amazing water of Akumal, a few lucky members were fortunate enough to go out on one of our boats for a scuba dive with a ton of Turtles.

Video - Mexico Cave Diving and Exploration- Major Restriction

This is a great video showing off some of the incredible skills needed to go into very small submerged caves.  The diver in the clip is probably the most active cave explorer in the world, Mauro Bordignon. This is an extreme side of an already extreme sport.  Wow that is tight!
